Kien Giang is a province under the Mekong Delta region which has the strength of agricultural and marine economics, tourism and building materials industry. However, during last time the investment attraction has not been equal to its potential and strength. In the orientation of socio-economic development in the period of 2016 - 2020, Kien Giang has been calling for investment in the fields of hi-tech agriculture, clean energy, farming and processing of agricultural and fishery products, food and consumer goods production, mechanical industry, supporting industries, handicrafts for export and electronic assembly, garment, leather shoes, construction materials production, investment in industrial zones’ infrastructure, etc.
On that basis, People's Committee of Kien Giang province assigns the Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center (KITRA) in coordination with the Vietnam Trade Promotion Center for Agriculture - Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and Management Board of Hi-tech Agricultural Park of Ho Chi Minh city to organize the "Investment Promotion Forum of Kien Giang Province 2017".
